M2 reopens coastbound and London-bound between Sittingbourne and Faversham after double crash

Two separate crashes on the M2 have now been cleared.

Police confirmed the first - involving four vehicles - happened coastbound between junctions 5 (Sittingbourne) and junction 6 (Faversham) at 7.45am.

The second - involving two cars - was London-bound between 6 and 5 at 7.50am.

A police spokesman said no serious injuries had been reported in either collision and all lanes are now open.

Some motorists reported traffic backed up all the way from Detling on the A249.
