The Street in Lower Halstow and Dane Lane in Hartlip to shut for road and Openreach works

A pair of popular roads which run directly through two villages are to close for roadworks.

The Street in Lower Halstow, near Sittingbourne, will shut while work is carried out by UK Power Networks.

It will shut for one day on Monday, October 2, Kent County Council (KCC) has confirmed.

Part of the road near the village cricket ground will be closed and an alternative route has been introduced via Breach Lane, A2 Hartlip Hill, London Road, Oak Lane, Forge Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will still be maintained during the works.

Meanwhile, another major village road is also set to close.

Dane Lane in Hartlip, Sittingbourne will shut on Friday, September 29 – also for one day.

The whole road will be shut from 9.30am to 3.30pm while Openreach carries out broadband work.

The alternative route for traffic will be via Place Lane, Mount Lane, The Street, Munns Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrians will still be able to use the road during the closure.
