A fruit lorry has overturned on a roundabout and caused a major road closure.

The 40 tonne HGV overturned on the roundabout at the Sonora Fields Estate at about 12.55pm today (Friday).

Police, firefighters and paramedics are on the scene, although there are not thought to be any injuries.

The Staplehurst Link Road has been closed as has the roundabout at the junction with Chalkwell Road.

The lorry was carrying 25 tonnes of fruit.

Diesel has spilled over the road.
