Sittingbourne: Michael Packman appears in court for second time accused of murdering his wife Stephanie

A pensioner accused of murdering his wife in an alleged failed suicide pact has made a second appearance at Maidstone Crown Court.

Michael Packman, 67, was due to enter a plea, but the prosecution was granted time to consider three psychiatric reports.

Stephanie Packman's body was found at their home in Hurst Lane, Kemsley, Sittingbourne, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 31.

The 64-year-old had dementia and was previously living in a care home. She was found with a wound to her neck.

Her husband was treated at a London hospital for a wound to his abdomen.

Packman was remanded in custody and will return to court on December 14.

A provisional trial date has been set for January 28 next year.
