A dog is believed to have died after a fire broke out at Sittingbourne home at the weekend.

Two pumps from Sittingbourne fire station were called to the address in Adisham Green, Kemsley, just before 4.30pm on Saturday.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze which broke out in the front room of the property.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service revealed that a log report for the job noted that a dog had died during the fire. No people were hurt.

The fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault, was put out in under half hour.

Fifteen per cent of the front room was damaged by fire and the rest of the room was damaged by smoke and heat.
