An 11-year-old girl let the Night Fever flow through her bones when she triumphed at the National Disco King and Queen dance competition.

Fulston Manor pupil Louise Short placed 5th for her street dance performance against hundreds of contestants at the famous Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.

School community cohesion manager Sarah Palmer said: “Louise has all the attributes needed to become a professional dancer - dedication, determination and talent. I just hope she can cope with any further trophies she receives - this one was enormous.”
