Crash outside Sittingbourne school prompts A2 closure

Part of the A2 closed outside a school due to a car crash.

The accident happened along Canterbury Road near Fox Hill, Bapchild, outside the Sittingbourne School’s bus drop-off car park last night.

A spokesman for the force said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving two cars at 5pm on Wednesday, September 20.

“Officers attended the scene on the A2 Canterbury Road, near the junction with Swanstree Avenue, where they assisted with vehicle recovery.

“No injuries were reported.”

A resident, who lives near the area, said at the time: “It looks like a silver Fiesta and a blue Audi were involved.

“The Fiesta looks pretty mangled but traffic is coping absolutely fine.”

The ambulance service have also been contacted for further information.
