A conman asking for money to see a sick relative, has been operating in Station Street, Sittingbourne, and Regis Crescent, Milton Regis

Police are investigating reports of a man deceiving people for cash in and around the town.

The alleged offences usually involve the suspect approaching members of the public and asking them for money, claiming he needs it to visit a sick relative.

To date, two cases have been reported, both of which occurred on September 20.

One happened in Station Street, Sittingbourne, the other in Regis Crescent, Milton Regis.

The suspect is described as a white balding man in his late 20s, wearing a hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
