Do you have star quality? Are you destined for a career on stage or behind a microphone?

The search for acts to take part in ITV's hit show Britain's Got Talent comes to Sittingbourne this week.

There are still audition spots left at Big Jam Studios in Castle Road, on the Eurolink Industrial Estate.

The BGT team is due to be there between 6pm and 9pm on Friday for auditions, with feedback on performances promised.

About 15 acts, mostly singers and dancers, have signed up for the Sittingbourne auditions so far.

Kevin Thorpe, studio director, said: "The show is open to any performer of any age, with any talent - all you need is a skill and star quality which you think will impress.

"Anything goes from magicians to comedians, drag acts to singers and acrobats to animal stars."

Successful acts will be in with a chance of securing a place at one of the judges’ auditions in 2020.

The ITV programme offers the winner £250,000 and a performance slot at the Royal Variety Show.

It has seen the likes of Scottish singer Susan Boyle, opera performer Paul Potts, dance troupe Diversity and dog act Ashley and Pudsey take to the stage.

Last year, Lee Ridley - better known by his stage name Lost Voice Guy - took the winning spot for his stand up act.

Earlier this year Colin Thackery, an English Korean War veteran and singer, was crowned the 13th winner.

In October last year, magician Richard Jones, who won BGT in 2016, entertained staff, patients and their families at Demelza Hospice Care for Children in Bobbing, near Sittingbourne.
