Co-op in Murston near Sittingbourne cordoned off after alleged assault outside shop

An arrest has been made after an alleged assault outside a convenience store.

Police cordoned off an area outside the Co-op in Church Road, Murston near Sittingbourne this afternoon.

Officers were responding to calls of someone being injured after a suspected attack was reported to police at 3.12pm.

Later the same day, a 28-year-old man from Faversham was arrested. He remains in custody while an investigation is underway into the incident.

The cordon has since been removed and the road reopened around 5pm.
