Appeal after road crash

A YOUNG man has been arrested following an incident in which a car was allegedly struck from behind.

Kent Police say that at about 6.20pm on Friday, December 22, a Citroen AX car was hit from behind by another car as it was waiting to go straight ahead on the roundabout on Grovehurst Road, Sittingbourne, at the junction with Sandstone Drive and Grovehurst Avenue.

The Citroen was pushed approximately 50 metres along the road, narrowly missing houses which line the road.

Police officers now want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident. The car, believed to be a Vauxhall Vectra, which allegedly collided with the Citroen, was believed to have sustained significant damage to its front.

The male driver of the Citroen is not believed to have been seriously injured in the collision.

A 21-year-old man from Sheerness was arrested and has been bailed to Sittingbourne Police Station on Monday 29 January, pending further enquries.
