Woman, 80, robbed in Sheerness

An 80-year-old woman was left shocked and shaken after being robbed of her handbag.

She was walking with her daughter along St George's Avenue, Sheerness, last Tuesday morning at about 9am when the attack happened.

A man approached them, pushed the back of the pensioner and then stole her handbag.

He ran off into an alley between two houses in St George's Avenue.

He was wearing a dark jumper with long sleeves, is about 5ft 7in tall and aged between 25 and 27.

He has short dark hair, was clean shaven and described as being of medium build with an athletic tone.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Her bag was black with white metal buckles, containing a pink purse with a cat picture on it and around £50 in cash.
