Teen's jaw smashed in street attack

A 16-year-old is recovering at home after a vicious street attack left him with a broken jaw.

Sam Butcher was walking in Botany Close, Sheerness, at 1am on Saturday after leaving his girlfriend's house.

A teenage girl and a group of others approached him and she asked if she could borrow his mobile.

Sam said "here you go babe", at which point the girl's ex-boyfriend punched him in the face - breaking his jaw in two places.

Two other teens then joined in the attack, according to the Canterbury College student.

Sam, who was knocked out, required emergency surgery to reset his jaw.
