A teenager attacked by a gang at Sheerness train station has been released from hospital.

The 16-year-old from Sheerness is now at home recovering with his family.

The attack at the taxi rank near the station last Thursday left the boy with a blood clot on the brain.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital before being transferred to King's College Hospital in London where he had emergency surgery.

Five teenagers, all from Sheerness, have been arrested and bailed until early December.

They are a 16-year-old girl, two 17-year-old boys, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
