The violence, which involved 10 to 15 people at around 8.30pm on Saturday, May 4, saw two men and a woman being arrested at the time.

Although the disorder did not lead to any reported injuries, a shop owner was left with thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Phone footage of the fight revealed the extent of the destructive behaviour inside 3A Wines.

The owner, Saba Mahesh, was in the shop at the time and called the police.

Yesterday police arrested six further suspects, four men, a woman and a teenage girl.

They are all Sheerness residents and have been bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.

The district commander for Swale, Chief Inspector Diane Middlemiss, said: “We have now arrested nine people in connection with the disturbance reported in Sheerness town centre last weekend.

“Incidents of violence and disorderly behaviour are completely unacceptable and have a detrimental impact on law-abiding residents and local businesses.

“We will be relentless in our efforts to track down those responsible.

“Our investigators are continuing to urge witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, and anybody who recorded footage of the incident to contact the appeal line.”
