Prehistoric fun at school

Forget Jurassic Park, the children of Sheppey spent a day learning all about dinosaurs and how to draw them.

Minster and Sheerness libraries both hosted a Dinosaur Family Draw workshop with children’s story illustrator, Mike Spoor, on Tuesday.

Mr Spoor, who illustrated the Dinosaur Cove series of books, spent time with almost 20 children and their parents between the two libraries.

He gave a demonstration first of how to draw dinosaurs with round shapes and the children then designed their own dinosaurs with different characters and expressions.

Swale librarian, Anne Pilcher, said: “It was very popular and Mike was excellent.

“The children enjoyed it and I had some good feedback.

“He was very interesting and the adults enjoyed it as well.”
