Emergency at Sheerness-on-Sea train station

Four police cars, two ambulances and a paramedic car were sent to Sheerness train station on Monday when a woman collapsed on the platform after suffering what is believed to be a cardiac arrest.

She was later taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham where she is recovering.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a medical incident at Sheerness train station at 12.26pm.

"Officers provided support to the South East Coast Ambulance Service alongside British Transport Police."

A spokesman for SECAmb said: "We were called at 11.30am to reports of a woman in need of medical attention. Ambulance crews in two ambulances and one car attended the scene. The woman was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
