An opening date has yet to be confirmed – although it’s thought it could be as soon as next month, with children believed to also be eligible for an appointment.

The news come just days after MPs heard some patients were travelling hundreds of miles for a dental appointment across the country.

The new branch has been created due to the need for another new dental practice for Sheppey residents, with Minster in particular an area of importance.

The surgery will have the equivalent of three full-time NHS dentists working in the practice.

It will also offer extended hours and urgent access to patients who are not necessarily regular attendees of South Cliff Dental Group, with Sheerness residents also likely to be able to apply to receive an appointment.

There were plans previously for a practice to be set up at former night club Layzells and opposite the Abbey Motel and Conference Centre at The Broadway – however it’s yet to be confirmed whether this is the location for the new site.

The new clinic is currently accepting registrations.
