Man punched in face by would-be robbers

A 23-year-old man was punched after he refused to hand over cash and his mobile phone to thugs.

The victim walking along the seafront towards Sheerness town centre at about 7.15pm on Wednedsday when he was approached by two young males.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The incident happened in Beach Street. The victim was asked to hand over his money and phone and when he refused, he was punched in the face, causing swelling and a cut lip."

The two males are described as white and around 15-18 years old. One was believed to be around 5ft 4in tall with short, brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a white hoodie.

The other thug was believed to be around 5ft 9in tall with short, brown hair with dyed blond tips. He was wearing black Umbro trousers and a black coat.
