Man charged after vicious screwdriver attack

A SHEPPEY man is recovering after being viciously assaulted with a screwdriver in Sheerness.

The 23-year-old victim, from Queens Road, Minster, needed 16 stitches in his head and 11 more in his ear after being attacked by a group of men in The Foyer in Bridge Road.

The man also sustained broken knuckles and two broken fingers in the incident which happened at about 8pm on Tuesday.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and charged with grievous bodily harm.
