Man charged after stabbing in Sheerness

A 37-year-old has been charged after a man was stabbed near a town centre.

Colin Hinds is alleged to have stabbed the victim, who is in his 30s, following a dispute in the Marine Parade area of Sheerness last Monday.

Police said the injured man sustained a serious injury that required hospital treatment.

Hinds, of Manor Road, Queenborough, was arrested in Essex on the same morning.

He was later charged with grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, September 8.
