Visitors to a stately garden enjoyed a spectacular display of flowers and afternoon tea in the sunshine while raising money for good causes.
Lord and Lady Robin and Rose Kingsdown opened their garden at Torry Hill House, Milstead, for the first time this season on May 17 and more than 130 people turned up to see the azaleas, rhododendrons and wild flower gardens.
It raised £594 which will be given to the National Garden Scheme, which raises money from garden openings and donates it to various charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care and MacMillan Cancer Support, and to St Dunstan’s Church, Frinsted.
Rose said: “It was a lovely afternoon, unfortunately most of the azaleas were over, but we have a wonderful wild flower garden and the buttercups were spectacular.
“We are lucky to have a wonderful garden and a marvellous gardener who has been with us since 1978.”
Torry Hill Gardens will be open on Sunday, June 7, and Sunday, July 19. Enty is £3.
