The family of a man who died following a battle with alcohol has paid tribute to a much-loved son, father, and brother.

Jason Jimmy Ryan had been living with his friend Marco Devro in South Street, Queenborough. It was Mr Devro who found Jason in the vacant flat below his own on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old’s family believe he never got over the death of his best friend 12 years ago and this is what contributed to his drinking and eventually his death. He was found hanged.

Since Jason, a father of one, witnessed the death of his friend, Lee Smith, in a motorbike accident, he had suffered with alcohol problems, and a number of deaths in the family made it harder for him to cope.

His family tried to help him and he spent time in rehab.

His sister Tracy said: "We will never forget him - he was my brother and my best mate."
