Police helicopter and coastguard searching for missing person near Sheerness and Minster

A police helicopter was circling over the Isle of Sheppey looking for a missing person, who has now been found.

The Met Police aircraft began to circle over Sheerness and Minster at around 9.30am, flying low over the town.

Police were unable to provide more details.

The coastguard was also spotted driving along the sea wall by Barton's Point Coastal Park in Sheerness, and appeared to be carrying out a search.

Meanwhile, Environment Agency officials dressed in white appeared to be laying tarmac on the wall.

Witnesses say three uniformed policemen were seen walking from The White House on The Broadway, Minster, towards Sheerness along Marine Parade.
