Eight people arrested after suspected stolen vehicles found dismantled in Sheerness

Eight people have been arrested after suspected stolen vehicles were found dismantled in Sheerness.

It follows police inquiries into suspicious activity at an industrial estate in Queenborough.

Seven men were arrested yesterday, while an eighth suspect, a woman, was being questioned today.

Five men have been charged with conspiring to receive stolen goods:

Evaldas Kajokas, 20, of Galway Road, Sheerness; Dovydas Statkus, 19, of no fixed address, and Andrius Zgunas, 37, of Upminster, Essex.

Ramunas Adomaitis, 29, of Trinity Road, Sheerness, was also charged with breaching a restraining order, and Mindaugas Pazera, 31, of Greenhithe, who was also charged with conspiring to receive stolen goods and attempting to conceal criminal property.

All five were remanded in custody and were due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court today.

Two 20-year-old men from Sheerness have been arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and bailed until January.

A 26-year-old Greenhithe woman is also being questioned on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

She remains in custody.
