Cody mum: "I cannot forgive"

A mother has said she "cannot forgive" the driver of a car which reversed over and killed her son.

Cody Leach died just yards from his home in Sea View Gardens, Warden Bay, while he was playing on his bike at 6pm on April 21.

An inquest at County Hall, Maidstone, recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Both parents, Michelle Leach, 27, and Jay Large, 26, sat at the inquest opposite the car driver, Andrew Warner.

Miss Leach said afterwards: “The accident may have happened nearly seven months ago but I am still in deep shock. We have had to move out of our house because I just cannot stand walking past the scene and I find it very difficult to go into Warden Bay at all to visit the rest of our family.

“I cannot forgive him, could you ever forgive anyone if they ran over your son.”

Attempts to contact Mr Warner for comment were unsuccessful.
