Classic Motor Show rolls up in Sheerness High Street

More than 100 classic and unusual cars will be on display in Sheerness next Saturday.

It’s believed to be the first time a motor show has been staged in the High Street and the Broadway, which will be closed to other traffic for the day.

Sheerness Town Team chairman John Nurden said: “It’s the latest in our campaign to encourage visitors to the town by making shopping in Sheerness more of an event.

“We think shoppers of all ages will enjoy looking around the huge range of cars.”

There will also be live entertainment featuring new Sheppey seven-piece fun rock band the Rockin’ Decades, Herne Bay crooner Martin Farbrother and “special guests”.

The show is being organised by Classic Music and Motors which runs a number of similar shows around the county.

Its boss. Chris West, said: “I had wanted to stage an event on the Isle of Sheppey for a long time.

“This is the perfect opportunity. Our exhibitors love a trip to the seaside. It is great we can work with the Sheerness Town Team.”

Among Sheppey car owners taking part will be musician and former motorcycle stuntman William Wallace from Seager Road, Sheerness.
