The Sheppey Crossing was closed for two hours this afternoon after a crash.

The accident happened at the top of the crossing after a car collided with another vehicle which had broken down and then spun into a third car.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the bridge at about 2.35pm.

A Ford Fiesta, a Daewoo Leganza and a Vauxhall Corsa were involved in the collision.

Two people, including a woman in her 20s, were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, one suffering with neck pain.

Traffic was diverted over the Kingsferry Bridge and the crossing was reopened at about 4.25pm.
