Boy, 10, hit by car in Halfway

A schoolboy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car and struck the windscreen yesterday.

The incident happened outside Stonnes Family Centre, Halfway Road, Sheerness, at around 3.30pm.

A rapid response car and an ambulance attended and he was assessed at the scene before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham.

Police were called at 3.35pm and closed the road off until 4.09pm.

The driver stayed at the scene and was not arrested.

The boy is recovering at home and suffered bruising and a possible fractured rib.
