Crowds are set to line the streets today (Saturday) for the Sheppey Summer Carnival.
As well as a procession there will be a funfair at Beachfields Park, Sheerness, and fireworks in the evening from about 9pm.
Carnival queens from more than 10 courts around the county will be in attendance along with Sheppey’s own court.
Floats in the parade will be judged by a panel including Mayor of Swale Cllr Pat Sandle and the procession is expected to leave New Road, Sheerness, at 5.30pm.
Sheppey Zulus will be out and about in the town all day and there will be live music.
Steam engines will also be part of the carnival procession and will be based at Stonnes Family Centre in Halfway Road, Sheerness, throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, the engines will be taking to the road again driving through Halfway and Minster to Barton’s Point Coastal Park off Marine Parade, Sheerness.
