DETECTIVES investigating the fatal stabbing of teenager Christopher Alaneme in Sheerness in April and the attempted murder of another man have re-arrested five men.

The five, aged between 23 and 34, are all from the Peckham area of south east London.

They had been on police bail following their arrests in April and May on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Kent Police officers re-arrested each of the men on suspicion of murder and attempted murder early on Monday.

They are now in custody at police stations in Kent where officers will question them about the stabbings in Sheerness High Street on the night of Friday, April 21 this year.

Christopher, 18, had moved to Sheppey from his family home in Anerley. His funeral was held at St Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Anerley, in July.
