THE woman driver of a white Rover Metro car was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters after her vehicle was in collison with a refuse disposal truck.

Police were called to the incident just after 8.35am on Wednesday in on Cold Arbour Road, the B2042 between Sevenoaks and Edenbridge.

The woman was taken to hospital in London by air ambulance. A police spokeswoman said later: "Her injuries are described as serious."

The road was closed at the junctions with Green Lane Farm and Back Lane while emergency services dealt with the incident.
