Police are investigating the incident at the hut in Bradbourne Vale Road, which caused substantial damage.

A statement released by the reserve said: "The anti-social behaviour we have experienced has led to thousands of pounds worth of damage.

"As you can imagine, we are all very upset by the continuing nuisance caused."

The reserve is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and supports a large number of birds, plants, fungi and fish.

No arrests have yet been made, and police enquiries are ongoing.
