The blaze at the building in Otford Road, Sevenoaks, is thought to have started in a tumble dryer.

Crews in breathing apparatus arrived just after 9.15pm last night and tackled the fire, before clearing smoke with a ventilation fan.

They removed the tumble dryer and checked the flames had not spread using a thermal imaging camera.

Two flats were left smoke-logged, and the landing suffered a small amount of fire, heat and smoke damage.

The fire service left the scene just after 10pm.
