Roads get back to normal after traffic chaos

ROADS closed after an accident that caused severe delays across Kent today have now reopened.

A crash in heavy rain, when a van hit the central reservation at 5.30am, caused tailbacks of up to 15 miles on the M25 between junction five for Sevenoaks and junction six for Godstone, Surrey, on the anti-clockwise section.

Lanes on the motorway affected by the accident were closed while repairs are carried out on damaged barriers. Lane three clockwise and two and three anti-clockwise have now reopened and traffic is flowing as normal.

Nobody is thought to have been seriously injured in the accident.

A five-car pile-up at 8.30am between the A229 at Blue Bell Hill and the Kits Coty overbridge has now been cleared.

No-one was seriously injured.
