Three-vehicle crash and broken down car leads to delays on M26 and M25

A three-vehicle crash and broken down car have caused rush-hour chaos on the county's busiest commuter route this morning.

On the M26 traffic was held from J2A A20 London Road, Wrotham, to J5 on the M25 until about 7.30 today.

The lanes have now reopened but there is congestion through Seal and Sundridge, with delays of 20 minutes.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at around 6.40am to a collision involving three vehicles on the westbound carriageway of the M26 near junction 2A.

"Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported. Traffic was briefly held while one of the vehicles was moved to the hard shoulder."

Meanwhile there is heavy traffic due to an earlier broken down car on the M25 clockwise from Junction 5 of the M26 to Clacket Lane Services. All lanes have been re-opened.

All lanes reopened at around 7.10am.
