Man dies following collision on the M26 near Sevenoaks

A driver has died following a collision on a motorway last night.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was at the wheel of a VW Caddy van which was involved a collision with a BMW on the M26 near Sevenoaks just after 11pm.

Police, firefighters, paramedics and a land unit from the air ambulance were called to the scene.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) investigating the fatal accident between the junctions for the M25 and Wrotham Heath are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage.

The collision involved a blue BMW 1 Series and a white VW Caddy.

The driver of the VW was confirmed dead at the scene. The other driver suffered minor injuries.

The eastbound carriageway remains closed while investigation work continues and a diversion is in place via the M20.
