Man charged after Sevenoaks high street jewellers targeted

A man has been charged with burglary after two men were spotted cycling near a jewellers after it was broken into.

In the early hours of Tuesday, July 25, a pair of men are reported to have cycled to the shop in High Street, Sevenoaks, before stopping in front of it.

It is alleged the window was damaged and they reached in to steal a handful of jewellery before riding away.

Police began an investigation, which led to a search warrant being carried out at an address in east London on Thursday.

A man was arrested at the property and taken into custody.

Alan Speed, of Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham, has since been charged with burglary.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
