Motorists are in for three months of traffic misery when speed enforcement on A21 put in place

Three months of speed enforcements on the A21 are set to cause traffic chaos.

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place along the Sevenoaks Bypass in both directions between Morleys Roundabout and the A21/A25 junction.

Work is being carried out to replace the central reservation barrier and will run from Friday, January 9 until Monday, March 30.

The Highways Agency has issued advice to motorists who will be travelling along the road:

  • Keep within the speed limit – it is there for your safety.
  • Get into the correct lane in good time – don’t keep switching.
  • Concentrate on the road ahead, not the roadworks.
  • Be alert for works’ traffic leaving or entering roadworks.
  • Keep a safe distance – there could be queues in front.
  • Observe all signs – they are there to help you.
