After approaching the vehicle to speak to the driver about the fault, grounds were raised to carry out a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A large amount of cannabis, two Stanley-type knives and other items were subsequently seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

A 30-year-old man from the Deal area was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and possession of a bladed article.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The car was seized due to it not having valid insurance.
