One person was helped to safety from their vehicle by fire crews and were handed into the care of paramedics.

Police helped clear the road, which was blocked for almost an hour as traffic queued in both directions.

A spokesman from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines attended, and crews used hydraulic equipment to create enough space for one person to get safely out of their vehicle.

“They were then passed into the care of paramedics.”
