Body found in search for Wayne Leppard from Lydd-on-Sea

Police searching for a missing man have found a body.

Officers have been scouring Romney Marsh in search of Wayne Leppard after he went missing on Friday morning.

The 68-year-old was last seen in the the Pleasance Road area of Lydd-on-Sea at 10am that day.

Pictures on Sunday showed officers combing the coastline and scouring the shingle landscape for any signs of the pensioner.

Tragically, a spokesman confirmed that a body had been found on the Marsh today, and that Mr Leppard's family had been informed.

No suspicious circumstances have been identified and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
