Kent firm responds as 90 per cent of people apply for jobs online

Ten new jobs have been created in a £100,000 investment by a Kent firm.

A state-of-the-art communications centre has been set up by recruitment company New Appointments Group, at its headquarters in Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne.

The changes were in response to research which showed 90 per cent of job applications were now made online, rather than by post or over the telephone.

The new centre will be able to process around 200 applicants a week. Ten new jobs have been created as a result of the investment.

Gerry Cassell, NAG managing director, said: "This £100,000-plus investment has maximised our efficiency and tightened control of our services, whilst massively increasing and improving our internal and external communication levels."

The company had a turnover of £9 million in 2007.
