Second home for ex-pats in Kent?

FOR many people, living abroad means the chance to shape a new lifestyle in a new environment.

This has been one of the reasons why so many Brits up sticks and head for destinations like Spain, but what about owning a second home in England?

Philip Brown, sales and marketing director for GALA Homes (South), said: “When we launched Kemnal Park in Chislehurst, we weren’t too surprised to hear from people living abroad or those about to move abroad wanting a base in the UK.”

The gated Kemnal Park development has already attracted significant interest from overseas residents. The 1,714 sq ft apartments are spacious in floor area and some open onto rear gardens.

Under tile heating has been installed so even the sun-soaked Spanish would feel at home. Outside GALA has installed an intruder alarm system and two private parking spaces per apartment, some of which are placed underground and with underground store cupboards for all residents.

“The idea behind Kemnal Park ìs to design the property to the highest possible specification so that all the owners have to do is move in and enjoy their space. In other words, we created a space where people could feel completely comfortable and satisfied that they own a well-designed luxury home,” said Mr Brown.

Kemnal Park was always destined to be a landmark development. Even before the first nail was hammered, two of the three penthouse apartments were sold off-plan, one for £1 million. Since then the reputation of Kemnal Park has spread.

Chislehurst is also gaining the reputation as the “Chelsea of Kent” because of the lavish homes and close proximity to the high street retail shops.

Prices for a home at the development range from £495,000 to £850,000. For further sales information, contact GALA Homes (South) on 0208 295 0922 or the selling agents, Langford Russell, on 0208 295 4900.
