New home bargains as prices slashed

A developer has slashed prices of new homes by up to £90,000 because of harsh trading conditions.

Hillreed Homes says its “winter sale” of some of new homes at FitzWalter’s Meadow, Goodnestone, near Canterbury, is a result of the credit crunch.

Jo Richards, marketing manager at Hillreed Homes, said: “As a company that has been operating over 30 years we have continued to build through recessions before.

“We therefore take stock of the situation and react accordingly. This is why we have substantially reduced the price of some of the homes.”

Reductions include a three bedroom mid-terrace house with car port and space, reduced by £90,000 to £279,950.

And a two-bedroom end-terrace house with car port and space is reduced by £80,000 to £199,950.
