New development in city centre

WARD Homes is building a new development, St Mildred’s, in Canterbury city centre.Only eight, three-storey houses and 10 apartments will be created on the site of a former tannery in the conservation area of Canterbury, directly on the River Stour.

Janet Burnell, sales director for Ward Homes, said: “St Mildred’s is going to be an outstanding development and the location simply couldn’t be more idyllic.”

Prices are expected to be in the region of £175,000 to £275,000.

CALA Homes (South) has launched its new development, Kemnal Park in Chislehurst.

According to the housebuilder, the gated development at Kemnal Road is in one of the most desirable private road addresses in Chislehurst.

Despite not launching until late November, two out of three of the penthouse apartments have already been reserved off plan. In addition, three of the luxury apartments have also been sold off plan.

Prices range from £495,000 to £1m.

More than half of Britons say that the lounge is their favourite room in the house, according to the latest findings from Alliance & Leicester’s movingimproving index.

Only one in 10 say the kitchen is their room of choice, although this falls to only eight per cent among stove-shy men.

More than 700 people packed the Ramada Hotel, Hollingbourne for Ward & Partners land and property auction on December 4, when a number of properties sold for sums exceeding expectations by as much as £60,000.

Ward’s are now inviting entries for their next auction, which is on February 12. The closing date for entries is January 6.
