Extolling the virtues of part exchange

MORE and more house buyers are choosing to part exchange their property for a new one, rather than sell on the open market, according to Bryant Homes.

Alison Steddon, regional sales director, said: “Confidence in the market is certainly still there, with the number of visitors on site remaining high and people happy to commit to a purchase.

“However, we are finding that many would rather have the added security of part exchanging their existing home rather spending time and money selling it themselves.”

Part exchange is a straightforward scheme. It enables buyers to avoid the time consuming procedures and frustrating chains associated with selling a home.

Following two independent valuations, Bryant will take on responsibility for marketing the existing property through an appointed agent. The scheme can also save purchasers money. There is a one-off fee to pay, but no costly estate agent or solicitors’ fees.
