Buy-to-Let Charter sets guidelines

THE Association of Residential Letting Agents and its newly reconstituted panel of lenders has issued the Buy-to-Let Charter which is intended to lay down the guidelines for investors, mortgage lenders and letting agents.

The charter is the first initiative of the new panel which has been formed by Birmingham Midshires (formerly Halifax Mortgage Services), GMAC Residential Funding, NatWest Mortgage Services, Paragon Mortgages and Standard Life Bank.

In addition to spearheading further education of the buying-to-let public, the panel aims to devote greater resources to research into letting and lending aspects of the residential investment market.

Copies of the charter are available from all member letting agents and the ARLA panel of mortgage lenders. It can also be downloaded from the website www.buytolet.co.uk.

For details of the nearest ARLA letting agent call 01923 896555.
