Auction time for properties in Maidstone

A wide range of properties go under the hammer at the next Clive Emson auction at the Ramada Hotel, Maidstone, on Friday, September 19, starting at 11am.

Green Farm, Shadoxhurst on the outskirts of Ashford, is a large 14th century manor house arranged over three floors which retains many period features including inglenook fireplaces and solid oak floorboards. Part of the upper floor has been constructed using the materials from a ship. The accommodation includes seven bedrooms and four reception rooms, on a plot of three acres which includes paddocks, pond and outbuildings. Guided at £420,000 to £450,000 the farmhouse is now in need of refurbishment.

Throwley House, Harrietsham, is in need of total refurbishment. Guided at £230,000 to £245,000, it has planning permission for the demolition of the existing building and construction of a replacement six-bedroom house.

In Richborough, Sandwich, guided at £375,000 to £400,000, Kings End is a stunning Grade II listed four-bedroom, four reception room, detached farmhouse in need of restoration.

In a central Maidstone location an unbroken detached parade of four residential properties arranged as multiple let investments is guided at £580,000 to £600,000.

In Broadstairs, a double-fronted Victorian building in Chandos Square with planning permission for change of use and conversion from a residential care home to three two-bedroom self-contained flats and three one-bedroom self-contained flats is guided at £330,000 to £350,000.

19 Turner Street, Ramsgate, a three-storey two-bedroom cottage for total renovation is guided at £50,000 to £55,000 and a fire-damaged building in Royal Road, Ramsgate at £30,000 to £35,000.

A detached bay-fronted house in Carlton Hill, Herne Bay requires complete renovation and is guided at £130,000 to £135,000.

In Linden Avenue, Broadstairs, guided at £80,000, is a ground-floor two-bedroom garden flat with garage. The second/first floor flat has been sold on a long lease and is being offered freehold with part vacant possession.

Overlooking Grimston Gardens and in the west end of Folkestone lies a first-floor flat in need of improvement, guided at £62,000 to £66,000.

A retail unit on the corner of East Street and Crescent Road in Faversham, in close proximity of the heart of the town, is guided at £35,000 to £40,000.

The Old Stonemasons in Headcorn is currently trading as a hairdresser’s and let for a term of six years from 2006 at a current rental of £7,500 a year. It is considered there is huge potential for conversion or, perhaps, re-development, subject to consents.
