Win a champagne balloon trip for two

The Queen's Head Harvester in Wigmore is reaching for the stars as the team continue their fundraising for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK with a charity balloon launch.

The pub and grill on Maidstone Road has been selling race cards for balloons for the next six weeks with the aim of releasing 250 balloons into the sky above Wigmore on Monday, August 25.

The owner of the balloon that travels the furthest across the country will be in with a chance of winning a champagne trip for two in a hot air balloon.

Adam Reece, manager of the Queens Head, said: “Make-A-Wish is a really deserving cause and all the team here are aiming to beat last year’s total and raise more money than ever before.

“With the average wish costing Make-A-Wish around £4,000 we are hoping that Harvester’s in this region can raise enough for at least one more wish to be granted. To achieve this we are appealing for guests to come down and help us out by purchasing a race card. It only costs £1 per balloon and you could win a day out enjoying a luxury flight.”

British swimming legend Sharron Davies MBE, speaking on behalf of Make-A-Wish said: “It is fantastic for Make-A-Wish to be working with Harvester again in 2008. Last year they raised over £30,000 of much needed funds that will add magic to the lives of special children, and this year we are all hoping to generate even more money than ever before.”
